Karen Beauchamp
Karen lives in Whitehouse south of Tarbert on the Kintyre peninsula. Born in London of Scottish extraction she trained as an architect, but diversified first into set design for the BBC in London and then into wallpaper design and printing, which became a passion.
Working with repeat pattern and advanced printing techniques has been her lifes work.
Colour has always been Karens obsession; she collects pigments from all over the world.
She is inspired by atmosphere, spatial relationships and the ever changing colours of the landscape, she faces the daily challenge to translate these with paint and linocuts and collagraphs.
Karen runs a residential art school from her house on the coast, providing a relaxed and enjoyable place to share and indulge in all types of media including exploring creativity, painting , printmaking and design.
